The Genuine Article

The Sussex Bulldog is the oldest established Bulldog outside of the K.C. developed in the U.K. It is not a breed of un-calculated chance, it is a breed with a genuine history documented at every level.

Photographs of each generation and genuine pedigree’s for each individual in those generations.
This is a breed of proven ancestry which can be viewed by sincere enquiries by owners and breeders alike.

The S.B.A is meticulous about it’s data on the development of the breed, and therefore we are selective about potential owners of puppy’s.

We perform a stringent vetting process before any potential owner is granted ownership.

Which results in an extremely long waiting list for puppies and also helps to ensure that each dog is kept with trusted owners.

The highest order of the S.B.A is that no Sussex Bulldog is ever cross bred, this is seen as the biggest insult that anyone can bestow upon the breed and it’s creator.

Mr Brown did not spend tireless years developing this breed for his efforts to enable others to gain the attributes for their own crosses and so called breeds.

The list of breeders on the S.B.A page are the only sources of genuine Sussex Bulldogs.
This has always been so and will always be so. Anyone not listed therein is not an authorized or genuine Breeder. Although rare there may be some who would try to “cash in” on our reputation. Anyone advertising Sussex bulldogs anywhere else should be checked with S.B.A. as there are some who may advertise Sussex Bulldog pup’s pure bred or crossed. These dogs are NOT the genuine article and are NOT sanctioned by us in any way.

We are confident therefore, that if the D.N.A. were checked they would contain no Sussex Bulldog D.N.A.

The Sussex Bulldog has a close and loyal fan base, who all share a loving passion for the breed, each one dedicated to upholding the integrity and honour of the breed, thus ensuring the purity and longevity of the Sussex Bulldog.
